Dr Alexander Chiu
Executive Medical Director, Quality Healthcare Medical Services
Dr Alexander Chiu is a critical care physician by training. Dr Chiu began his career in health administration since 2009 where he was the service director for quality and safety at Queen Mary Hospital. Dr Chiu coordinated the hospital accreditation at the hospital and was also in charge of various quality related matter including complaint handling, risk management and clinician credentialing. In 2011, Dr Chiu joined the Hospital Authority Head Office as the chief manager for the Department of Quality and Standards, and later in 2014 as the chief manager for the Department of Integrated Care Program. During this period, Dr Chiu was in charge of specialist outpatient waiting time, sterilization and many other projects where digital means were introduced to modernize and revolutionize the services. In 2015, Dr Chiu joined the private sector and is currently the Executive Medical Director for Quality Healthcare Medical Services Limited, one of the largest health management groups in Hong Kong. His job profile at present includes managing all clinically related risk matter, health service planning, ascertaining clinical standards and implementing electronic medical record system within the organization.
