Our medical professionals routinely confront conflicting sources of knowledge and burgeoning numbers of data. From our experiences during SARS, we see that there is an imminent need to educate and train them to effectively organise, analyse, manage, and use information. We therefore propose organising courses, seminars and delivering case studies to meet their needs in health informatics education and capacity building.

Facilitate a university to run Certificate and Masters courses for health care professionals
Education workshop series on health informatics will be conducted for private and public practitioners.

The "Essential eHealth Skills Workshop for Private Medical Practitioners" will equip around 500 private doctors in Hong Kong with essential IT skills to facilitate their application of Health Informatics as well as use of tools to be provided by HA and DoH.

Collaborating with OGCIO to provide more in-depth and solution-based IT courses that build on the existing health care sector IT training courses (under the e-transformation Scheme) for medical practitioners.

Local case studies on using IT in the health care industry.
Identify a pilot project for Electronic Medical Records (EMR) exchange in the Pearl River Delta region.
